The first finger is named after the planet Jupiter, which in turn is named after the king of the gods. It denotes drive, ambition, leadership qualities and the ego. It also called Index finger.
- A long Jupiter finger shows self confidence and awareness. The owner is sure of their ability.
- People with this finger are keen on advancement. They like to be in charge and have their own way.
- They are capable and do well being in charge of a crisis situation.
- For people with a short Jupiter finger the reverse holds true. They are usually shy; afraid they will fail and inclined to have self doubt.
- People with a curved Jupiter finger are collectors and often have many hobbies.
We naturally use the Jupiter finger to express our personal power. When we are really mad at someone we point at them and may even put that finger right in their face or poke on them! When this personal power is habitually strong and direct the index finger actually grows longer, stronger, and straighter! If you want to see if your boss is really in the right job, check out her or his index finger. It ought to be strong, long and straight -- if not a workplace mutiny could be in order!
Length
The Jupiter finger should reach between half and two-thirds of the way up the tip phalange of the second finger. Ideally, it should be about the same length as the Apollo finger. If it is longer, it gives the person drive and ambition. People with a long Jupiter finger are determined to get what they want and keep on working at it until they succeed. The only disadvantage of this is these people often do not know when to stop. In extreme cases, these people can drive themselves to an early grave. If the Jupiter finger is very long compared to the Apollo finger, it can indicate egotism.
If the Jupiter finger is the same length as the Apollo finger it means the person is moderately ambitious and will work hard for what he or she wants, but also knows when to stop and relax. This person will be realistic in assessing his or her abilities. It’s not always easy to determine the relative lengths of the fingers from the palm side of the hand. As mentioned earlier, it is often better to assess the relative lengths of the Jupiter and Apollo fingers by turning the hand over and comparing them from the back of the hand. When the Jupiter finger is shorter than the Apollo, it is an indication of lack of confidence early on in life. If this finger is very short, it indicates someone who is timid, quiet and scared of life.
